If you are unable to get your hands on St-Germain liqueur to make this simple shimmery new year’s eve cocktail, you can follow my cheat’s method to make your own.ġ part vodka + 1 part elderflower cordial gives you a cheat’s version of St-Germain liqueur. I prefer to stay away from brut-nature or extra brut champagnes since this is a sweeter cocktail, so a slightly sweeter champagne or prosecco will work better (especially one with fruity/floral notes). A brut chamapgne will work in a pinch too. Then top it with your favorite bubbly, preferably a sweeter sparkling wine like extra-dry or dry champagne, prosecco or my favorite – a spumante. Simply mix St-Germain liqueur with some gold shimmery luster dust to create the GOLD SHIMMERY LIQUEUR needed for this champagne cocktail (see picture above).

How to make gold shimmery champagne cocktail (elderflower champagne cocktail) You can check out The Witch’s Heart cocktail here, and the Unicorn Blood cocktail here, but my favorite so far is this color changing, shimmery phoenix cocktail (which also happens to have elderflower, mixed with gin). If you’ve followed my blog before, you’d know how much I love shimmery cocktails! 🙂 I first came up with the homemade shimmery liqueur back in 2015, and have made several shimmery cocktails using this nifty technique since then, like my rainbow colored fruit infused shimmery liqueur. Gold shimmery liqueur (elderflower liqueur) is the base of this New Year’s Eve Cocktail Plus, I’ve also included in this post an option for a NON-ALCOHOLIC new year’s drink version of this too. This shimmery new year’s eve champagne cocktail is going be a hit at your party, and it couldn’t be simpler to make! It’s an easy elderflower champagne cocktail with the added magic of a touch of gold luster dust to make it mesmerizingly beautiful. I got you covered with this easy, delicious and spectacular New Year’s eve drink – a Gold Shimmery Champagne Cocktail! Looking for an easy but SPECTACULAR New Year’s eve drink to serve at your party? Simple, beautiful and bubbly the French 75 Champagne Cocktail is perfect to toast the New Year.Looking for a New Year’s Eve drink to serve a crowd? This simple yet spectacular Gold Shimmery Champagne Cocktail is all you will need! With sweet, fruity, floral elderflower champagne flavors and shimmery gold luster swirls, this cocktail is a party on its own! Today was a Cava sort of day and this Segura Vuidas Reserva Heredad was perfect. So for me it’s usually Prosecco from Italy or Cava from Spain or even a good sparkling wine from California. While this recipe calls for Champagne, truth be told I seldom buy the French bubbly…maybe that’s a sacrilege when making this French namesake cocktail but the price point can be a killer if I’m entertaining and I need something for a crowd. I prefer mine shaken and poured straight up so that it doesn’t get diluted! There are variations to this drink including the use of cognac in lieu of gin and some pour it over ice in a Collins glass. Named after the 75-MM M1897, a mainstay of the French field artillery in WWI, it was a potent little gun and this is a solid namesake…it’s a potent little drink! Known to have been a favorite of the Lost Generation including apparently Ernest Hemingway who, though known for his ability to partake with great gusto, was also known to secure a definite buzz with a French 75. I love it but it was time for something new, something even more elegant. I’ve done that a lot over many holiday seasons with the Cranberry liqueur I make. Several years ago I yearned for something a bit unique for the New Year something more than ‘just’ a glass of Champagne but not what has become my standard of simply adding Champagne to a liqueur either.
